In order to remind you of your legal obligation to present your vehicle for its technical inspection, we send you an inspection notice approximately one month prior to the expiry date of your technical inspection certificate, or before the anniversary date of your vehicle becoming 4 years old, or if your vehicle needs to be presented for weighing after registration.
You do not require the inspection notice to present your vehicle for a technical inspection. The letter is only sent by way of a reminder. It is not an official document and not receiving one does not justify being late for the inspection. If you are late, an additional fee will be charged and you will lose your right to claim any bonus on the validity of the certificate.
In addition to the expiry date, this summons includes some practical information, as well as the contact details and opening times of our two inspection centres closest to you.
If you do not present your vehicle within the required time, a single reminder will be send out to you in the weeks that follow.
Which inspection centre should you go to?
You are not obliged to present your vehicle at either of the two inspection centres stated in your inspection notice. In fact, you can opt for any inspection centre in Belgium.
However, if you require a re-inspection, you must present your vehicle at the inspection centre where the vehicle was failed originally.
What do you do if you have problems presenting
your vehicle by the reference date?
Don’t forget that you can present your vehicle at any time up to two months before the expiry date without forfeiting the remaining period of validity and without modifying the reference date.
For example, a car with an expiry date of 1st March can be presented at any time from 2nd January. The new technical inspection certificate will be valid again until 2nd March of the following year.
Your vehicle can also be presented by another person.
Vehicles whose certificate basic validity is 6 months or less can only be presented one month before the expiry date. These are mainly driving school vehicles, ambulances, taxis, vehicles for providing paid passenger transport and so on, as well as buses and coaches.

Liste d’attente
Depuis le 1er janvier 2023, le Groupe Autosécurité offre à l’automobiliste qui obtient un rendez-vous pour son contrôle périodique après la date de validité la possibilité de s’inscrire sur une liste d’attente. Sur base des désistements enregistrés, des nouvelles plages de rendez-vous sont ouvertes et proposées aux retardataires.
Comment s’y prendre ?
Se rendre sur la plateforme « Rendez-vous » du site https://rendez-vous.autosecurite.be :
• Encoder le numéro de convocation pour accéder au planning ;
• Choisir une date et une station ;
• Sur la confirmation du rendez-vous « hors délai », il est proposé de s’inscrire sur la liste d’attente ;
• Définir ses préférences (jour, heure, station) ;
• Réception d’un SMS contenant un lien vers une proposition de rendez-vous le plus tôt possible. Attention, la proposition est limitée dans le temps (1h) ! ;
• Accepter la proposition et passer le contrôle dans les temps.
Ce service ne sera pas accessible aux clients qui sont déjà hors délai au moment de prendre leur rendez-vous.
Malgré la mise en place de cette liste d’attente, il est fortement conseillé de prendre son rendez-vous dans les temps. Celui-ci peut être pris jusqu’à deux mois avant la date limite de validité au moyen de la convocation reçue mais également à tout moment sur la page « Rendez-vous » du site Autosécurité au moyen de ses numéros de plaque et de châssis.
