Provisional driving licence

You can obtain a duplicate of your application for a provisional driving licence by going to the examination centre where you took your theory test. This document costs 7.50 €. The duplicate of the provisional driving licence will then be issued by your local council.

If your provisional driving licence (18 and/or 36 months) expired more than 3 years ago, you can obtain a new provisional driving licence, with private instructor, valid for 12 months (PCP M12), from your local council.

Conditions

  • You must have completed 6 hours of practical driver training with an accredited driving school;
  • A PCP M12 may only be requested once.

To be eligible to take the practical test, you must have passed the theory test and risk perception test within the past 3 years.

If you do not hold a provisional driving licence, you may not practise on public roads.
