Identity documents

A valid loss declaration certificate issued by the police will be accepted instead of an identity card. However, your pass certificate (for both the theory and practical test) will be retained by the examination centre and will only be issued on presentation of your official new identity card.

The test can take place provided to have the expired identity card with you, as well as the receipt issued by your local council, proving you have applied for renewal. The application for the provisional driving licence and/or driving licence will be kept in the examination centre’s database and will only be issued based on the presentation of the valid identity card.

No receipt? The test cannot take place.
