“Wallonisation” of the driving licence
Since 1 January 2026, your entire driving licence process must take place, from start to finish, in Wallonia. Concretely, to sit your practical exam in Wallonia, you must have passed in Wallonia:
- Your theory test
- Your Risk Perception Test (RPT)
- Your Technical Driving Skills Test (TDST) (only for holders of a provisional M18 driving licence)
This rule was decided by the Public Service of Wallonia (SPW), as part of a new regional regulation.
Autosécurité simply applies the rules set by the SPW, its supervisory authority.
For category B (car):
- You sit your theory test in Wallonia,
- You then sit your Risk Perception Test (RPT) in Wallonia,
- You can then sit your practical exam at the Walloon examination centre of your choice.
Your entire process now takes place in the Walloon Region.
For other licence categories: the same principle applies – all steps must be completed in Wallonia.
You have two options:
- Continue your process in that other region
- Start your process again in Wallonia, which means:
- Passing your theory test in Wallonia
- Passing your RPT in Wallonia
From 1 January 2026, the entire process must be completed, from start to finish, in Wallonia.
When booking an appointment, our system automatically checks:
- Where you passed your theory test
- Where you passed your RPT
This information is verified directly in the official database. If the conditions are not met, the appointment cannot be booked.
