Making an appointmen

You must make an appointment in advance for both types of inspection.

For an inspection ‘with a view to re-registration’, an appointment can be made either via our online portal or via our customer service department on 087/39.39.49. The time slots available will be suggested after entering the plate number and the last 4 digits of the chassis number. A 6-digit validation code will be sent by SMS to authenticate and validate the appointment. The confirmation email will be sent with all the relevant information.

For ‘post-accident’ checks, appointments can only be made by telephone, via our Customer Service department on 087/39.39.49. As a general rule, call volumes are lower between 7.00am and 8.30am and between 12.00pm and 1.30pm.

It is essential to bring your vehicle registration certificate with you when making an appointment.

Our stations authorised to carry out this type of inspection are those in Wanze, Cuesmes, Habay, Aye, Eupen/Lontzen and Mont-Saint-Guibert.

Ancestor vehicl

A category L vehicle can be registered as an ‘ancestor’ from its 25th birthday. To do so, it must undergo a roadworthiness test. The test will be identical to that carried out to obtain a ‘classic’ registration, with the exception of the following two points:

  • The environmental test is not carried out;
  • The certificate of conformity is not required.

Imported vehicl

In the case of an imported vehicle, you must first send us a copy of both sides of the vehicle documents and a photo of the vehicle identification plate so that we can inform you of the appropriate procedure for registering the vehicle in Belgium.

2-layersD.I.V. (Vehicle Registration Department)

Every motor vehicle (as well as any trailer whose maximum authorised mass is greater than 750 kg) must, to be able to be driven on public roads, be registered in the database of the Vehicle Registration Department (D.I.V.). When registered, the vehicle receives a registration certificate and a European format registration number plate.
